Although I see there is no activity here, I thought perhaps that my post would help in some tiny way towards that eventually changing. I was really excited today when my copy of "Clive Barker's Nightbreed; The Making Of The Film" arrived in the mail. It joins "The Nightbreed Chronicles" on my bookshelf, and the entire twenty-five issue collection of comics. Now I have to decide if I want to become truly geeky about this collecting business and start buying things like lobby cards and rare posters. lol From reading "Chronicles" and Mr.Barker's comments about a possible sequel on his website, I'm beginning to draw a, (admittedly very foggy), idea of what any forthcoming second story might be about. ...But, that conjecture would belong in a different place here. ~ Cobweb

The fact that there isn't much activity is actually primarily my fault, so I apologize. I'm generally pretty good about contributing in my forums, but I've been very preoccupied lately.
Congrats on your recent purchase! I don't have as many Nightbreed collectibles as I'd like, but I did pick something rather spectacular up on eBay. Someone had listed an unopened laserdisc, and the display potential is absolutely phenomenal. Unfortunately, I hadn't seen many laserdiscs, nor had I ever owned one, so I didn't realize they looked so ..well.. shiny.
And there's nothing wrong with being geeky in regards to collecting things regarding films or music. At least that's what I keep telling myself anyway. ;D It can be a very expensive hobby though, but as long as you can afford it & have room to properly display what you collect so you can appreciate it on a daily basis, it's generally worth the money.

So that "Making Of" book is pretty informative? I've been eyeing it for awhile, but never forked over the cash for it. I've never read the "Jihad" books, so those are in the mail to me as we speak.
Would the sequel follow Cabal's progress towards rebuilding Midian? Or was it a totally different idea?

Two thirds or better of "The Making Of.." is taken up by the screenplay, but that in and of itself is extremely enlightening, I thought. If you sit through the movie and follow along reading the screenplay, you can see just how much was omitted from the final version. It's both enlightening and irritating, reading all that was removed. (Kudos here, to the great and all-powerful Baphomette, who, I presume, typed out the entire screenplay for the benefit of visitors to this wonderful site. ;D ) The Foreward is seven pages long and written by Barker. I enjoyed it immensely. In my personal opinion it's rather vague, but it did leave me with an impression of how he felt about the film at the time, and of course he certainly knows how to write. ;D The second part, "A Hymn To The Monstrous", I thought was pretty informative. The authors describe quite a few specific things from the shooting of the film; and there's a picture of Peloquin reading a newspaper, on page 40, that I personally would've paid for by itself. lol. But yes, I felt it was worth what I paid and I wasn't disappointed. Obviously that's just me, though. I put my thoughts on a possible sequel in "Nightbreed II" here. ~ Cobweb

In the months of Nightbreed's release, one of the big two comic companies (DC or Marvel) put out a fold out advertisement for Nightbreed in most of the comics in their line. It consisted of the studio photographs of the Midianites, as well as some description of who they were.

;D I don't feel so bad now. I have a binder of Nightbreed stills, most of the comics, the Jihad set, and both books, the book on tape, the pink pages script/screen play, soundtrack CD......yes eBay was an evil thing.

No worries there Boneyard, it was only published in Great Britain and Canada so it's an import IF you can find it. I had to order it from a book shop in San Francisco. I got a second copy of both books on eBay later and was able to give them to the buddy who introduced me in the first place. ;D eBay may still be your best bet. However I got my first by ordering through a local book store. They in turn got it from SF.
